Guests at The Rosebank can drift away from the noise and feel their stress dissolve at the new Seven Colours spa which provides an oasis of tranquillity and a sense of wellbeing with treatments tailor-made for each individual.

The Rosebank officially becomes the first South African hotel to launch the Seven Colours Spa brand, a creation from the island of endless white beaches - Mauritius.

"We chose Seven Colours because it compliments The Rosebank’s chic and unique style centred on offering guests and visitors an awakening of senses in all its offerings," says chief operating officer of the Hospitality Property Fund, Andrew Rogers.

The concept of Seven Colours is based on interaction and balance of life-giving energies and colours, established on the idea that everyone should achieve their own definition of well being in relation to their lifestyle, character and outlook. Each programme offered works on rebalancing the energy centre, and is carried out in an atmosphere suffused with colours, fragrances and music to offer optimum luxury and indulgence.

"Just like your fingerprint or genetic code, you have your own chromatic personality. Our chakras or energy centres are the paths through which our energy circulates. That is why our spa treatments are not uniform but suited for each individual because our chakras are unique," says Seven Colours spa manager, Alvina Rughooputh.

These treatments were created based on the philosophy that the chakras are the contact points between the body and spirit. They drive our physiological functions and influence our physical condition. The treatments and products have been developed to act on these energies and so liberate the body and spirit from stress and tension.

The spa, which will open daily from 9 am to 8 pm, will have seven massage rooms – one of them a double – plus two hammams and a Vichy shower and a reflexology pool. The spa officially opens to the media today.

Resident Bathologist

For those guests unable to make time for a spa treatment or preferring to indulge in a treatment in the comfort of their own room, The Rosebank has a resident bathologist on hand to prepare rejuvenating aromatic baths based on individual needs. A consultation is done with guests before deciding on which bath to run. The bath also works on rebalancing the energy centres, accompanied by therapeutic music, fragrance and candles.
