The Rosebank Hotel, currently undergoing a R254m refurbishment, has appointed Headlines as its public relations partner to drive its communications strategy as it repositions itself. The hotel’s general manager, Rick Berendsen, said Headline’s energy and fresh thinking was in line with the vibrancy, passion and innovation the new style the hotel has set ahead of its re-opening in August 2008. Headlines has been operating for the past 14 years in industries ranging from information technology, retail, media and marketing. “It is a pleasure to have The Rosebank on board especially for a project that is set to change the face of hospitality in Johannesburg and beyond the region,” says Headlines Managing Director Simone Appleton. Built in 1932, the Rosebank Hotel underwent its first major expansion in the ’80s with the addition of 210 new rooms. In 1993 a further 106 rooms in the north tower were added. The latest upgrade will totally recreate all 318 rooms and add exclusive restaurants, bars, an internationally branded health spa and upgraded conference facilities complete with the latest technology.
